THE WALL STREET COLLECTION LIMITED EDITION PRINT SERIES

Reflective moments; glistening rails and refracted light bouncing off 100 year old ceramic mosaics, set against the mystery of darkened tunnels, are all immortalized in Daniel Greene’s widely acclaimed Subway Series paintings. Since 1990, Greene has found a source of inspiration in the New York City subways, rendering their intricate mosaics and aging walls with rich coloration and elegant design. Greene’s subway images evoke a poetic world of hidden beauty that millions of commuters pass through every day.

Now, for the first time, several of the most exquisite of these works are available as archival, high quality, limited edition giclée prints. Greene has released the Wall Street Collection, capturing the beauty of his original paintings which focus on the Wall Street areas of the subway. The images that are now available come with a choice of three versions: full size and three-quarter size on archival paper and full size on canvas. Each version is limited to 50 impressions plus 10 Artists Proofs. Every print is hand signed and numbered by the artist and comes with a signed Certificate of Authenticity.

Available in:
(A) Archival Paper  42" x 26.5"  $2400
(B) Archival Paper 30" x 19"  $1800
(C) Stretched Canvas 42" x 27"  $3800

Features
  • If you appreciate a virtuoso, you’ll love Daniel Greene. Line, perspective, texture — all are nearly flawless in his work. There is in fact, so much beauty in these paintings that one has to remind oneself that Greene’s subject is, after all, the New York City subway system. It is more in what he does with his raw subject matter rather than how he puts it on the canvas that makes Greene the consummate artist he is. — Art Times critic, Raymond Steiner

  • For centuries, artists, including Dürer, Rembrandt, Blake, and Goya have chosen to offer their work to collectors in the form of multiples, utilizing the best technologies available at the time. In the past few decades, a new system has appeared which is widely favored, employing very sensitive digital scanning of the artist’s imagery, combined with stochastic printing and very durable pigmented inks.

  • Fine new printing devices capture the most subtle nuances of the artist’s image on archival paper or canvas, avoiding unsightly dot patterns and engendering works which resist fading just as well as oil paintings and watercolors. The result yields works which amazingly maintain the aura of the originals on which they are based.
