The Cleveland, Painesville and Ashtabula Railroad was founded in 1848 and ran from Cleveland Ohio to the Ohio-Pennsylvania border.  The railway completed the line from Buffalo New York to Chicago Illinois.  The company was renamed the Lake Shore Railway in 1868.  This unissued fractional share is from 1860s.  Great piece of Americana.
