This vintage replica of the The Edison Ticker Tape machine is a lighter featuring a glass dome, black metal base, brass colored workings and even a ticker tape. The lighter even has a brass plate that can be engraved. Makes a great desk piece. Our lighters are shipped without fluid or flint due to shipping restrictions. The Edison Ticker Tape machine was invented by Thomas Edison in 1869. Ticker Tape Machines were used to convey stock prices over long distances quickly. Previously this information was hand delivered by letter. The Edison Ticker Tape Machine improved on the speed and could print up to one character per second.
