Lucent was founded in 1996 after AT&T spun off their technologies business unit including Bell Labs and Western Electric.  At its peak, it had a market cap of almost $260 billion.  In 2000 they were accused of misleading accounting practices and their stock plunged.  By 2002, its stock price fell to 55 cents.  They later merged with Alcatel before being acquired by Nokia in 2016.  This Lucent Technologies stock certificate was issued in 2000.
