General Foods Corporation was originally part of the Post Cereal Company founded in 1895 by Charles Post.  Over the years General foods has been part of several household named companies including Phillip Morris. General Foods is now part of Kraft, but the name only exists as part of General Foods International, a brand name for coffee based beverages.
