This vintage replica of the The Edison Ticker Tape machine are two bookends with glass domes and wooden bases, brass workings and even a ticker tape. Each bookend has an engraved brass plate that says, “ EDISON STOCK TICKER  - Designed by Thomas Edison in 1869 this stock ticker was used for receiving stock quotations form the nation’s leading exchanges for over 80 years.  Hard to find!  Approx Dimensions:  6 high, 3 ¾ square base – 2 bookends Approx Age:  1950s - 1960s Condition: Very Good

The Edison Ticker Tape machine was invented by Thomas Edison in 1869.  Ticker Tape Machines were used to convey stock prices over long distances quickly.  Previously this information was hand delivered by letter.  The Edison Ticker Tape Machine improved on the speed and could print up to one character per second.
