This Wagner Palace Car Company Stock Certificate features the signature of W.S. Webb as President and the original Union Station in Chicago that was later burned in the Chicago fire as well as the Grand Central Terminal in NY. Dated New York, June 8, 1896. Signed by William Seward Webb (W.S. Webb), son-in-law of William H. Vanderbilt.

William Seward Webb was the son-in-law of William H. Vanderbilt. Webb became President of Wagner Palace Car Company when Webster Wagner was crushed between two railcars. Vanderbilt owned a controlling interest and putt Webb in charge. He would later become President of the Fulton Chain Railway Company, Fulton Navigation Company and the Raguette Lake Transportation Company. He also built and became President of the Mohawk and Malone Railway. He served in the Vermont Militia as a Colonel and also was elected to the Vermont House of Representative in 1896 and 1898.
