| This is a very interesting set of documents from the The York Stock Exchange Institute in 1940 signed by William McChesney Martin, Jr. (the first salaried president of the NYSE and longest serving Chairman of the Federal Reserve), Charles B. Harding (Chairman, Board of Governors, NYSE), and Birl E. Schultz (founder of the NYSE Institute).
The 1st document is a certificate to a student, Frederick Delaney, Jr., for successfully completing The New York Stock Exchange Institute program dated 6/20/1940. It is hand-signed by William McChesney Martin, Jr., Birl E. Schultz and Charles B. Harding. The certificate is in great shape for its age and would look fantastic framed. Contact us if you would like us to frame it for you.
The 2nd document is a hard-cover, diploma from the NYSE Institute to Frederick Delaney, Jr. for graduating from The New York Stock Exchange Institute program dated 6/20/1940. It is hand-signed by William McChesney Martin, Jr., Birl E. Schultz and Charles B. Harding. There is some slight staining on the certificate as can be seen in the pictures but the signatures are in great shape.
Also included in this lot of memorabilia but less valuable are some personal items from the student, Frederick Delaney, Jr. such as his high school diploma and some award/certificates that he won. Unfortunately, we could not find much information on this individual, but for the resourceful, this additional memorabilia helps tell an interesting story.
