Description

This letter was written for Continental Army Soldier Jacob Gillet in 1782 for his service in the Continental Army during the Revolutionary War in 1781. He served in Colonel Samuel Blachley Webb's regiment. The letter was written in Camp West Point. The letter is acknowledging that Gillet is due pay and and then Gillet endorses the letter to pay the barer of this letter the notes due to him.

Our best interpretation of the letter:
This may satisfy that Jacob Gillet served in Col Samuel B. Webbs Regiment in Connecticut Line in the continental Army in the year 1781.
Camp West Point Nov 8th 1782

Please to deliver the barer my notes due me for my service in Col Samuel B Webbs Regiment in the Connecticut Line Continental Army for the year 1781.
Camp West Point Nov 1782 - Jacob Gillet (signed)
