This medal was produced by the Medallic Art Company to celebrate the 50 year anniversary of Fahnestock & Co and features William Fahnestock who became the youngest member of the NYSE at age 23. William Fahnestock's investment banking firm was founded in 1881 and operated independently for over 100 years before it was acquired by E.A. Viner Holdings in 1988. E.A. Viner was subsequently purchased by Oppenheimer in 2003.

The reverse features a fantastic Wall Street Scene with the New York Stock Exchange on the right and Trinity Church in the Center.
