This pewter commemorative plate was made in the late 1970s by the International Silver Company. It depicts Thomas Edison and the invention of the Edison Universal Stock Ticker. The plate was made in limited edition is in terrific shape. Original box included. Measures 8" diameter.

The Edison Ticker Tape machine was invented by Thomas Edison in 1869. Ticker Tape Machines were used to convey stock prices over long distances quickly. Previously this information was hand delivered by letter. The Edison Ticker Tape Machine improved on the speed and could print up to one character per second.
