This rare solid brass gavel was presented to late actress Kaye Ballard to commemorate the open of the American Stock Exchange on September 17, 2002 by the cast of "Funny girl" to benefit the Actors' Fund. The gavel is engraved with "AMERICAN STOCK EXCHANGE" on the handle and the head:
"THE ACTORS' FUND OF AMERICA
FUNNY GIRL OPENING BELL
17 SEPTEMBER 2002"

The gavel is solid brass and measures 8" long and presented on a lacquered wood base with brass accents. This gavel was purchased from her estate.

Kaye Ballard played the role of Mrs. Brice. Other notable actors in the play were Woopi Goldberg, Jane Krakowski, Andrea Martin and others.

Kaye Ballard has appeared on the cover of LIFE Magazine and appear in may movies such as The Girls Most likely, Freaky Friday, and Which Way to the Front. She is best know for her portrayal of Kaye Beuhl in the 1960s sitcom, The Mother-In-Law as Doris Day's landlord and friend. She has performed on Broadway, recorded several albums.
