The Michigan Central Railroad was formed in 1846 to provide service between Detroit and St. Joseph Michigan.  It later expanded in to Indiana, Illinois, and Ontario Canada.  The company later became part of The New York Central Railroad and then Penn Central and Conrail.  In 1998 Conrail was broken up and the railroad became part of Norfolk Southern.  This unissued but signed gold bond was for $10,000. 50 Year Bond from 1902 and due 1952.  Great vignette of a steamship at the depot.  Oversized 13.5" x 9.5".
