This Sahara Casino Partners, L.P. Specimen Stock Certificate was printed in 1990 and features a fantastic vignette of early American Settlers scouting the land with a Native American in the background.

The Sahara Las Vegas hotel and casino is located on the Vegas Strip and opened in 1952 and was the 6th resort opened on the Strip. The Sahara featured and African / Moroccan theme and expanded several times throughout the decades it was open. The resort closed in 2011. After several changes in ownerships and names the resort was renamed the Sahara Las Vegas again in 2019.

Sahara Casino Partners LP was formed in 1987 to help raise money for the Casino and would become the first Casino limited partnership to trade on the NYSE.

Specimen stock certificates are certificates that were archived by printers and the company as perfect examples of the company’s stock issue. Specimen’s can be identified by their “specimen” stamp, stamped holes spelling “specimen”, or they are often issued with a serial number of a series of zeros. Often, they are also issued with no serial number at all. Specimens can also represent a design that was never issued.
