This is a fantastic piece was given out to members Salomon Smith Barney Inc. by the NYSE. The framed picture has an etching of the New York Stock Exchange building and the text reads, "An institution whose history dates back to 1792 and whose rules and regulations have been formulated for the purpose of maintaining high standards of honor among its members and for promoting and inculcating just and equitable principles of trade." It features Richard Grasso as Chairman of the Board of the NYSE.

Salomon Brothers was purchased by Travelers Group in 1997 which subsequently merged with Citicorp. The Combined Investment Bank would be known as Salomon Smith Barney. This name was only used from approximately 1998 to 2004 making memorabilia with the name Salomon Smith Barney quite rare.

Smith Barney
Smith Barney was founded in 1873 and was one of the most respected investment firms in the U.S. They merged with Harris & Upham in 1975 to become Smith Barney, Harris Upham & Co but were renamed Smith Barney, Inc. in the 1980s. Their catch phrase, "They make money the old fashioned way, they earn it." helped them become a household name. They merged with several firms over the years including Primerica, Shearson Lehman Brothers, Salomon Brothers and Citi. During the Financial Crisis of 2008, Citigroup received a federal bailout and decided to spin out Smith Barney. In 2009 Smith Barney merged with Morgan Stanley to become Morgan Stanley Smith Barney.
