Description Extended Information

In 1907 Harry N Allen imported 65 gasoline powered cars from France to compete with the horse drawn carriages and electric cars currently providing taxi services in New York. This formed The New York Taxicab Company. The original cars were red and green but Allen had them repainted yellow to improve their visibility by customers. They became the first modern taxicab company and the yellow color still sticks today. A year later, their fleet increased to over 700 taxicabs.

This New York Taxicab Company Certificate for Share Warrant to Bearer for Five Deferred Shares was issued in 1909 and is hand signed. The text is in French and English. All the coupons are still attached. Has embossed corporate seal and tax seal of the crown.

Please note, if you select the framing option, we will frame just the certificate portion of this bond, not the coupons due to its size.
