Operating from 1899 to 1935, the United Railways & Electric Company of Baltimore ran street cars in Baltimore and eventually expanded into operating a power plant. They declared bankruptcy in 1933 and emerged as the Baltimore Transit Company. The Maryland Transit Authority took over operations in 1970.

This United Railways & Electric stock certificate was issued in 1900 and is hand signed.
