The Holly Corporation has refining operations in Kansas, New Mexico, Utah, and Wyoming. Originally formed in 1947 as the General Appliance Corporation, it changed its name in 1952 to the Holly Corporation. The Holly corporation merged with Frontier Oil in 2011 forming the HollyFrontier Corporation. HollyFrontier Corp. is now listed on the NYSE under the ticker symbol HFC, it is a component of the S&P 500. This specimen was printed in the 1960s.

Specimen stock certificates are certificates that were archived by printers and the company as perfect examples of the company’s stock issue. Specimen’s can be identified by their “specimen” stamp, stamped holes spelling “specimen”, or they are often issued with a serial number of a series of zeros. Often, they are also issued with no serial number at all. Specimens can also represent a design that was never issued.
