The iconic chewing gum company was founded in Chicago by William Wrigley Jr. in 1891. This Wrigley Stock Certificate was issued in 1994 and feature William Wrigley as President. Wrigley was acquired by Mars in 2008. They are the largest producer of chewing gum in the world. The vignette features a Latin America Native with a parrot as well as a industrial scene from Chicago including the famous Wrigley Building on Michigan Avenue on the Magnificent Mile. This rare Wrigley Specimen Stock Certificate was printed in 1981.

Specimen stock certificates are certificates that were archived by printers and the company as perfect examples of the company’s stock issue. Specimen’s can be identified by their “specimen” stamp, stamped holes spelling “specimen”, or they are often issued with a serial number of a series of zeros.
