The Jeffersonville Railroad Company was formed in 1832. This hand signed stock certificate was issued in 1853 making it over 160 years old. The line from Jeffersonville to Columbus was completed in 1852. In 1866 they merged with the competing Madison & Indianapolis. Signed by company President William G. Armstrong. Armstrong was a Whig member and member of the House of Representatives and the Indiana State Senate.
