Bent's Brewery Company was founded in 1899 in Liverpool after the acquisition of Montgomery & Co in Stone and R. Bent & Co. They later purchased Chester Lion Brewery and Gartside's Brewery in Stalybridge in 1939. They were later acquired by Bass Charrington in 1967. The company ceases operations in 1975. They were known for brewing "Stone Ales".
