Celebrate historic Wall Street with this 1922 New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) medallion made from
solid bronze. Designed by Augustus Lukeman, this scarce commemorative medal marks the
NYSE’s 130th anniversary and the opening of the new Broad Street “Garage” expansion.
Commemorating the NYSE “Garage” Expansion (1919–1922)
In 1919, the NYSE purchased the adjacent property at the corner of Broad and Wall Street.
Construction followed on a 23-story tower built to complement the original 1903 Exchange building.
This new addition expanded both trading and office space and became affectionately known as “The Garage.”
