Description

This rare Pabst Corporation Treasury Stock Certificate was issued to and signed by president Fred Pabst Jr. on the back. His signature is clean and uncancelled. It was also signed by Vice President Harry W. Marsh and Secretary Edward Loebl. It was issued in 1922 for 123 shares and is a low Certificate #65. Stock certificates from the Pabst Corporation are exceedingly rare. Most are from the Pabst Brewing Company. This would have been for Treasury stock of the Pabst Corp.

The Pabst Brewing Company, founded in 1844 by Jacob Best in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, began as a small brewery serving the local community. Frederick Pabst, who acquired the company in the late 19th century, played a significant role in its growth and expansion, alongside his sons Gustave and Frederick Jr., who were involved in the business and helped modernize operations. Under their leadership, Pabst became one of the most prominent American breweries, known for its flagship beers and widespread distribution. Despite challenges such as Prohibition, which temporarily halted production, the company persisted and continued to thrive through the 20th century. After periods of decline, Pabst experienced a resurgence in the 21st century as a nostalgic and craft-oriented brand, cementing its place as an iconic name in American brewing history.
