This Michigan Central Railroad Bond was issued in 1925 for $1000 and paid 5% interest due in 1931. Hand signed.

The Michigan Central Railroad was formed in 1846 to provide service between Detroit and St. Joseph Michigan. It later expanded in to Indiana, Illinois, and Ontario Canada. The company later became part of The New York Central Railroad and then Penn Central and Conrail. In 1998 Conrail was broken up and the railroad became part of Norfolk Southern. This unissued but signed gold bond was for $10,000. Early 1920s. Great vignette of a steam engine at the depot. Oversized 13 3/8" x 9 7/8".
