This rare Richfield Oil Company of California Gold Bond is from 1936. Richfield Oil of California was founded in 1905 would later be known as Atlantic Refining Company, Atlantic Richfield Company and later renamed ARCO. The company had trouble during the Great Depression and was purchased by Cities (now Citgo). In the 1930s, the East Coast service stations were sold to Consolidated Oil Corp (now Sinclair). The remaining assets were later purchased by BP in 2000.
