Dating it's subsidiaries back to the Wills Valley Railroad which was chartered in 1852, the Alabama Great Southern Railroad was officially formed in 1877 to take the Alabama and Chattanooga Railroad out of state seizer. The Alabama and Great Southern is now part of the Norfolk Southern Corporation. Issued in the 1940s. Hand signed. Vignette features a steam train pulling passenger cars through a depot with awaiting passengers. Original sales/transferred receipt stapled to the back and sales ledger clipped on the left side of the certificate. Great example of actual stock certificate history and documentation.
