This rare stock certificate from the Alaska United Gold Mining Company is from 1896 and is hand signed. They operated mines on Douglas Island, Treadwell, Alaska. The Alaska United Gold Mining Company was controlled by the Treadwell Company who also controlled Alaska Treadwell Gold Mining Co and Alaska Mexican Gold Mining Co. A red three pence stamp is on the top of the certificate indicating it was sold in Great Britain.

The vignette features a scene of early prospectors with mules in a mountain setting.
