This Allegheny and Western Railway Company stock certificate was issued in the 1930s-40s and his hand-signed by the company president twice. Besides the capital shares issued, it also guaranteed a 3% semi-annual payment by the Buffalo, Rochester and Pittsburgh Railway Company.

The Allegheny & Western was incorporated in 1898 in Pennsylvania and consolidated with the Jefferson and Allegheny Railway. They connected with the Buffalo, Rochester and Pittsburgh Railway at Punxsutawney, PA and the Baltimore and Ohio in Butler, PA.
