This hand-colored old map of the Michigan was made famous map making family Colton around 1879. Details feature several Native American territories as wells canals, and Railroads completed and projected.

J.H. Colton was a prominent map maker in the United States in the 19th Century. His first atlas, Colton's Atlas of the World was issue in two volumes in 1855 and 1856. Sons G.W. and C.W joined the firm and both became accredited on maps around 1857.
