This Atlantic and Pacific Railroad Company $1000 Gold Bond was issued in 1880. It is hand-signed by the company president and has coupons 22 - 60 still attached. Over-sized.

The railway was founded in 1866 as a transcontinental railroad connecting Springfield, Missouri to Van Buren, Arkansas to California. The middle portion was never constructed so the western half became part of the St. Louis San Francisco Railway and the Eastern portion part of the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway.
