This Basin Montana Tunnel Company stock certificate was issued in the 1930s and hand signed by the company president. The Basin Montana Company took over the Comet Mine in Montana in 1927 and built an on-site process plant that also processed ore for the nearby Gray Eagle mine. The operated until the early 1940s when the mine was exhausted. The Comet mine was considered one of the riches mines in the region.
