Originally formed in 1840, the Belknap Hardware and Manufacturing Company, also known as Belknap Hardware, was once one of the United States largest wholesalers competing with the likes of Sears and Montgomery Ward.  After over 140 years, the company filed fro bankruptcy in 1986.  This certificate was  issued in the 1930s-1940s out of Louisville, Kentucky and is hand signed.
