The Central pacific Railroad was chartered by congress in 1862 to build the western part of the Transcontinental Railroad. The Company started building on January 8th 1963 from Sacramento California. On May 10th 1869 the Union Pacific and the Central Pacific meet at Promontory Utah to drive the golden spike and complete the first continental Railroad. Great vignette featuring a steam trail rolling down the tracks. Issued in 1944 and due in 1974. Large certificate measuring 15.25" x 10.25". The bonds have been clipped. Hand-signed.
