This attractive Chicago and Northwestern Railway Company stock certificate was issued in 1981 and is hand signed by the company president. Several illustration decorate the certificate from an old steam train to a Union soldier. The Chicago and Northwestern Railway was chartered in 1859. It purchased the defunct Chicago, St. Paul and Fond du Lac Railway and later merged with the Galena and Chicago Union Railroad.
