This Chicago South Shore and South Bend Railroad stock certificate was un-issued and cancelled in 1945. Built in 1908 as the Chicago, Lake Shore & South Bend Railroad, the South Shore Line was America's last urban electric railroad. It was acquired by Samuel Insull in 1925 and became the Chicago South Shore and South Bend Railroad.
