This scarce Cleveland, Cincinnati, Chicago & St. Louis Railway $10,000 Gold Bond Certificate was issued in 1959 and is hand-signed. The Cleveland, Cincinnati, Chicago & St. Louis Railway was commonly known as the Big Four Railroad, it was founded in 1889 and operated in the Midwest. The railroad was acquired and operated as a separate entity by the New York Central Railroad in 1906 and later in 1968 into the Penn Central Railroad. The lines of the Cleveland, Cincinnati, Chicago & St. Louis Railway were eventually included in the U.S. governments Conrail.
