This hand-colored old map of North Western Africa features an inset of Liberia. The display stretches west of the Canary Islands to Tripoli. Details include countries, towns, rivers and more.

J.H. Colton was a prominent map maker in the United States in the 19th Century. His first atlas, Colton's Atlas of the World was issue in two volumes in 1855 and 1856. Sons G.W. and C.W joined the firm and both became accredited on maps around 1857.
