This Dayrock Mining Company stock certificate was signed by president Henry L Day in the 1930s. Dayrock Mining was one of the main producers of lead and silver and incorporated in 1923 under the name Stratton Mines Company. Their named changed to Dayrock Mining Company in 1928. It was named after the founders of the Day family and Frank M. Rothrock. The Dayrock mine was located north of Wallace, Idaho.

Henry L. Day was educated in mining and geology at the University of California and Harvard University. After his graduation he managed the family mining business with his father Jerome Day. He consolidated their various mining claims to form Day Mines, Inc. and improved operation to be more efficient.

He was a leader in the construction of the Wallace Civic Memorial Auditorium, the Camp Fire Girls camp on Lake Coeur d'Alene, and the building of the East Shoshone Hospital in Silverton, Idaho.
