This fantastic Erie Railroad Company Bond Certificate was issued in 1939 for $4,000 . Hand signed.

Founded in 1832 as the New York and Erie Railroad the railroad connected the northeastern United States with New York. In 1941 it expanded to Chicago with a merger with the New York, Pennsylvania and Ohio Railroad. In 1960 it merged with Delaware, Lackawanna & Western Railroad to form the Erie Lackawanna Railroad.
