This Frontier Airlines stock certificate was issued in 1977. They are very hard to find. Frontier Airlines was founded in Nevada in 1950 as a result of the merger of Monarch Airlines, Challenger Airlines, and Arizona Airways. They were purchased by People Express Airlines in 1985 and went into bankruptcy just a year later. People Express was bought by Continental in 1986 which absorbed both airlines.

A new airline, also called Frontier, was founded in 1994 and is based out of Denver.
