Howard Johnson was the largest restaurant chain in the U.S. during the 1960's and 70's. In the 1950's Howard Johnson expanded into the hotel and motel business. Howard Johnson hotel division is now owned by Wyndham Worldwide and there is reported to be one restaurant left in operation.
