The Inspiration Consolidated Copper Company was formed in Gila County AZ in 1915. The mine was soon followed by the mining camp known as Inspiration AZ, a post office was established in 1917 and closed in 1983. The town is now a ghost town. The mine is now called the Miami mine and is operated by Freeport-McMoran. Issued 1971. Incorporated in the state of Maine in 1911.
