This Market Street Railway Company 5% Mortgage Gold Bond was issues in 1924 and is hand-signed by the company president. The Market Street Railway Company was a streetcar and bus operator in San Francisco which was named after the famous Market Street. They were also known as the Market Street Railroad Company, Market Street Cable Railway Company and the United Railroads of San Francisco. They were acquired by the San Francisco Municipal Railway in 1944.
