This Michigan Central Railroad Company $1,000 Gold Bond was issued in 1902 and is hand-signed by the company president. The Michigan Central Railroad was formed in 1846 to provide service between Detroit and St. Joseph Michigan. It later expanded in to Indiana, Illinois, and Ontario Canada. The company later became part of The New York Central Railroad and then Penn Central and Conrail. In 1998 Conrail was broken up and the railroad became part of Norfolk Southern.
