This hand signed Michigan Central Railroad Gold Bond was issued in 1901. The Michigan Central Railroad was formed in 1846 to provide service between Detroit and St. Joseph Michigan. It later expanded in to Indiana, Illinois, and Ontario Canada. The company later became part of The New York Central Railroad and then Penn Central and Conrail. In 1998 Conrail was broken up and the railroad became part of Norfolk Southern. This hand signed gold bond was issued for $1,000. Great vignette of a steam engine at the depot. Oversized 14.5" x 10 1/16".
