This Norwich & Worcester Railroad Company Stock Certificate was issued in 1889 and is hand signed by the company president. Chartered in 1832 in Connecticut and 1833 in Massachusetts, the two companies merged in 1836 to build a line connecting the two cities. They later became part of the New York, New Haven and Hartford Railroad.
