This Pennsylvania Company $1000 Bond was issued in 1970. It was exchangeable for shares of the Norfolk and Western Railway Company from 1970 to 1979. The Pennsylvania Company's history dates back to 1870 as the owner of many railroads including the Pittsburgh, Fort Wayne and Chicago Railway and the Pittsburgh, Cincinnati, Chicago and St. Louis Railroad. and many others throughout time. They later reincorporated in 1958 primarily to hold various real estate and eventually merged back into the Penn Central Company.
