The Peoria, Decatur and Evansville Railway chartered in 1857 but construction was delayed by the Civil War. It wasn't until 1870 that track was finally laid to create what would be come the PD&E. Parts of the Peoria, Decatur and Evansville line are still being operated today. This rare stock certificate is un-issued from the 1880s. Features a steam locomotive in the center vignette.
