The Pekin, Lincoln and Decatur Railway was chartered in 1861, just two months before the beginning of the Civil War.  The Civil War caused the delay in construction which was finally started in 1870.  The railway was merged into the Illinois Central in the 1880's.  Unissued share from the 1800s.  Vignette features a steam train traveling over a bridge in the country side.
