This Reading Railroad Bearer Bond certificate was issued in 1945 for $1000. It was a 50 year bond and still has many coupons still attached. The Philadelphia & Reading Railroad was one of the first railroad lines to be built in the United States. In 1896 it became the Reading Company. The Reading Company was made famous in the classic Monopoly board game.
